Oxleyan Pygmy Perch
Nannoperca oxleyana
EndangeredNCA E · EPBC E
The Oxleyan Pygmy Perch is a tiny freshwater fish of coastal wallum wetlands, living in slow, still waters with aquatic plants, root-filled banks and acidic swamp edges. Around the Moreton Bay region, it belongs to the hidden freshwater side of the landscape — the sandy wetlands and quiet pools behind the coast. Its populations are often isolated, making them vulnerable to habitat loss, fragmentation, drainage changes and declining water quality.
